We are aware that there are mistakes in this video and that all is a bit ropey -it began with me forgetting to take a biretta with me, hence the clergy on the left of the video as we look at the screen are without head covering!
ReplyDeleteBeing full time students finishing term papers and preparing for journey's home for Christmas, these young people had no practice before hand for serving, and the singers had only a few minutes before Mass. I thus encourage any commentators to bear this in mind and not to be critical -Don't make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Father Dickson
I watched this and it was marvellous.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks to all concerned and in particular Fr Dickson.
Glad you enjoyed it!
DeleteOur thanks go to the Juventutem group who organised this Mass in a very short time, and to Fathers Earl and Goodill, the Dominicans who hosted the event.
I have to say I I need no thanks since I had nothing to do with it all -except that I gave Andrew and Paul permission to raid my sacristy for Missals, Orders of Service, chalice etc, in case they could not access the sacristy at St Cuthbert's, Fathers Earl and Goodill being out that evening!
All the blessings of the season to you and yours.
Lovely chasuble. I disapprove of that alb being worn with it though...
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteI think the chasuble belongs to the Church where Mass was offered, while the alb belonged to the celebrant, so there was no possibility of matching them up before hand.
Sung Mass usually makes more use of sumptuous vestments so as to to identify the solemnity of the act (Mass) and the occasion.
God Bless.
It is my travelling alb. It doesn't crease!
DeleteDespite having little practice, the singers did a great job! I am especially impressed their execution of "Ave Verum." That particular piece is not easy to prepare in a short time. :) beautifully done.

Thank you Maureen.
DeleteI to thought the singers (and servers) did will.
Blessings of the season to you and yours.
